Taconic Shores Community Garden 2010

I know it’s still winter, but spring will be here before we know it.  That means it’s time to start thinking about gardening again in our wonderful Community Garden in front of the water tower on Washington and Lincoln Roads.  The garden, which is open to all Taconic Shores residents, is divided into fifteen 10’ x 13’ plots and four plots each 8’ x 16’.  You can grow whatever you want in your plot, as long as the surrounding plots are not adversely affected.  Our garden is organic.

Each plot is $25 per year.  For that charge, Taconic Shores will maintain the fence it put up and the watering system it installed and will automatically water the plot every weekday, which is wonderful for full timers as well as weekenders.  When the ground thaws, probably in May some time, Bob Sacks will rototill the plots.

To reserve a plot send your $25 check made out to TSPOA to the office.  I would appreciate it if you would also let me know when you reserve your plot.  Plots are available on a first come, first served basis, and those who had plots last year have first dibs on keeping their same plot.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.  Carol Sacks, Phone:  518-329-3852, Email:  copakewillow@fairpoint.net.
